eircom SportsHub
eircom, the national telecoms operator in Ireland, worked with Yomego to create the Soccer Republic community site.
eircom’s objective was to extend the success of Soccer Republic into GAA (Gaelic) sports.
The challenge was to apply the learnings to GAA (gaelic) sports. The
eircom SportsHub launched in April 2011, bringing the latest news and
views to sport fans, with a behind-the-scenes flavour afforded by eircom’s official sponsor status. The new site also
provided fans with scope to interact and this was taken one step further when Yomego designed and built the
official Facebook presence.
To help to bring the client’s strapline – Experience More – to life, we designed and built a
Facebook app to give fans the chance to show their allegiance
by painting the face of their profile pic in their team colours.
Colette Kelly, Sports and News Programme Manager, eircom.net, says:
Yomego has helped eircom over a number of years to progress from social media novices to innovative pioneers in social channels.
The Soccer Republic community site gave the business confidence to put social functionality at the core of many business divisions,
helping to improve customer services as well as making our marketing initiatives more inclusive and engaging.
